Amid growing poverty, only few Bicol colleges offer scholarship to the poor and deserving students. This is why Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation Inc. (SLTCFI) endeavors to put forward best affordable computer education to nurture computer skills and cure illiteracy of young Bicolanos.
Compared with other Bicol colleges, SLTCFI focuses its curriculum on IT-based fields in order for it to gain the support of recognized companies in Legazpi City like Private Education Students Financial Assistance (PESFA), People’s Broadcasting Network (PBN), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Children International (CI) and SDSAF as scholarship sponsors of the less privileged students.
The school started nurturing computer skills in 1994 by offering two-year courses. Its hardwork and perseverance did not remain unrecognized. In 2003, the school humbly received the award as 8th place Outstanding SME Graduate Sulong Pinoy Program at Ceremonial Hall in Malacañang.
The famed IT school in Bicol is offering two-year Computer Technician (COMTECH), Computer-Aided Architectural Drafting Technology (CADDTECH) courses, Computer Programmer (COMPROG), and Computer Secretarial. Four-year courses include Bachelor of Science in Information Management (BSIM) and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSEntrep), Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCoE), and Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED). SLTCFI is also offering three –year Network Technician (NTECH) and one-year Data Encoder.
After graduation, SLTCFI refers the students to tie-up companies like Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Embarcadero, Content Online Services Inc. (COSI) to render service. The school also refers its graduate to its international affiliated companies like USIntel.
SLTCFI also provides free training for call center agents, legal transcription, web programming, search engine optimization (SEO), and web copywriting. Among Bicol colleges, the school is first to be granted 100 hours President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (PGMA) scholarship for call center training.
Be trained, be hired. Keep the dream alive at SLTCFI.
