Im looking for good computer science schools that doesnt just focus on programming, a HBCU would help a lot?

If you are interested in computer science, but not so much in programming, start looking into the fields available via computer engineering as another option. You can do a lot in the computer field, without actually being a programmer. You’ll need to learn some programming, of course, but it doesn’t have to be the main focus of your program.
As for historically Black colleges that have majors like this, and are respected in the field, check out:
- Howard U. They have a strong engineering/computer program.
- Spelman. Also a fine program.

-Xavier U of Louisiana
-North Carolina A&T
-Morgan State U
-Morehouse, if you’re male (but your avatar shows a female, so…I suggested Spelman.)

You may be interested in the program at U Missouri-Rolla. They have a program to actively recruit Black engineers, including scholarships. It has a high graduation rate.
